Adani Airport Holdings Ltd (AAHL), a owned unit of Adani Enterprises Ltd, on Tuesday took over the management control of Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL) from the GVK Group
This makes the Adani Group the largest private airport management company in India.
The Adani Group, which already owns the management rights of 8 airports, has become a sole proprietorship with 25% ownership of Indian airports. It also owns 33 percent of the freight airline.

The Adani Group will start construction of the Navi Mumbai International Airport within the next month. The airport will be open to the public in 2024.

Earlier in 2020, Adani Group acquired six airports including Mangalore, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Guwahati, Jaipur and Thiruvananthapuram.
